Education

At TEAR Australia, we're passionate about God's priority for justice and compassion for the poor. We want to support Christians in Australia and the Australian church as they make a biblically-based response to suffering and injustice. Part of our Mission Statement puts this plainly:

We will: inform, challenge and empower Christians in Australia to make biblically-shaped responses to poverty and injustice.

Want to be informed, challenged and empowered? There are lots of ways to connect with TEAR's education programs.

TEAR Speakers

TEAR staff are available to speak at your church or small group. TEAR speakers speak from a Bible based perspective, and personal experience of issues affecting the lives of our poorer neighbours. TEAR Speakers

TEAR Conferences

TEAR conferences are a time of challenging Bible teaching, encouraging fellowship and spiritual nourishment. It is a time to explore pathways of hope. A time to be reinvigorated in the mission Jesus has given us. A time to get equipped to bring hope to others. TEAR Conferences

Activities in your state

Around the country, TEAR Australia is working to engage Australians in God's work of justice with the poor. In every state, TEAR staff work with local supporter networks in education, advocacy and fundraising. Activities in your state

TEAR Groups

TEAR Groups are made up of people who share the concerns of TEAR. The focus varies from group to group, and has included advocacy, support for TEAR Representatives, working with local churches and fundraising events. TEAR groups meet regularly and are always interested in new people coming along. Put it all into practice and get some juice for the journey through a local TEAR support group. Educational Resources

TEAR produces resources for Australian Christians to learn more about the needs of poor communities around the world. Designed for a wide variety of audiences, TEAR's educational resources will help inform, challenge, motivate and encourage yourself or your community to take action with the world's poor. Further Education

TEAR is involved in the development and delivery of a number of courses in theological colleges around Australia. These are fully accredited courses, some available through distance mode with face-to-face intensives. Further Education
