Get Involved - Prayer

TEAR Australia values your partnership with us in praying for the needs of the poor around the world and remembering the work of our overseas partners, as well as that of our friends and colleagues working in Australia. If you are praying, or if you'd like more information about any of the prayer items here, please contact us at prayer@tear.org.au

Prayer for the week of Monday 30th June 2008

Please continue to uphold Zimbabwe in prayer.

The visa situation in Burma is progressing very slowly.  Please pray that World Concern will get the necessary written permission so that visas can be processed.  Pray that Daryl Jackson’s visa will come through soon.

There has been a positive response to giving to TEAR's partner CEDAR fund for the Sichuan earthquake in China.  Please pray for CEDAR as they respond to the enormity of the devastation there, which has left 5 million people displaced.

Please pray for Micah Challenge Australia’s Winter Pollie Push and all the resource materials being produced around the theme of maternal and child health.  Pray that churches and other groups will take up these issues in their own communities and encourage widespread participation.

Prayer for TEAR's Common Wealth program - our partnership with indigenous Christian communities in Australia.

  • TEAR partner Wontulp-bi-Buya College has appointed the Rev. Victor Joseph as Acting Principal of the College. He has previously been employed as the Chief Executive Officer of St Paul's Community Council at Moa Island in the Torres Strait. Please pray for him as he starts work at the College.
  • Pray for those involved in Indigenous education. Please remember the Northern Territory Christian Schools Association, its CEO Geoff Bateman and those working in remote areas. Pray for Fitzroy Crossing District High School and for Principal Paul Jefferies as he recruits suitable staff members. Pray too for Ben and Sue Hollands teaching at Owairtilla School at Canteen Creek in the NT.
  • Pray for hopefulness in the midst of discouragement, for trust that God's purposes will be worked out in communities.
  • Pray that TEAR Australia will know the best way to support the work of others in Indigenous settings.
