Introduction

Despite the signing of the peace agreement in May 2006, the conflict in Darfur has continued to escalate and bring suffering to millions. 250,000 people were forced to flee their homes for Internally Displaced People (IDP) camps between July and December 2006 alone, some of these for the second or third time. More than two million people have been affected by the attacks and counter attacks of the Sudanese army, government backed militia and the rebel forces. Reports from the UN claim that children are being recruited into the fighting forces of both sides, and girls continue to be subjected to sexual abuse.Project Details
