Asal Chhimeki Nepal
Asal Chhimeki means ‘Good Neighbour' in Nepali, and demonstrating neighbourly care and concern in the community is the aim of the organisation. Asal Chhimeki Nepal (ACN) was formed by the Pokhoreli Christya Samudaya (Pokhara Christian Community) and is jointly ‘owned' by the 24 main churches in Pokhara. Their first aim was to provide a vehicle to help churches get involved in social action and development work in their local area. Previously, the churches had separate youth and women's groups that did various social activities in the community. There was a desire to strengthen the coordination and impact of these activities and in 2001, after several workshops, they formed ACN.Projects:
