This resource kit comes with everything you'll need to explore the ways in which God’s people can work with poor, marginalised communities to help them move beyond bare survival and experience some of the ‘fullness of life’ that God offers.
In the kit you will find the following:
- Suggestions and outline for a worship service.
- Beyond Survival overhead transparency set, script — intended for use in a Project Micah worship service, but could be used as a graphic presentation in other contexts: eg. uni groups, high school assembly etc.
- A set of colour photos
- Worship song — ‘In the Kingdom of Friends’ from Worship to Live by Steve Bevis (3.2MB)
- Song Lyrics
- Sheet Music
- Dramatic skit — a no-fuss sketch which is easy to use in a variety of settings.
- Children’s activities — lessons, stories, activities and Bible talks which can be used as part of the Project Micah Worship Service, or in Sunday School or Scripture classes.
- Youth materials: simulation game and Bible study — designed for use with a church youth group or high school Christian fellowship.
- Small group Bible study — self-explanatory.
- Campaign ideas — Information and ideas to enable you to take action to help ensure that Australia’s overseas aid program meets our inter-national obligations and is aimed at reducing poverty.
- Take action with TEAR — designed as an over-head transparency, but the info could be included as an insert in pew sheets. If you intend to use this, you may need extra copies of the appropriate brochures from the TEAR office.
- A copy of Target magazine 2001 no 2, Beyond Survival — this issue of TEAR’s free quarterly magazine explores ways that God’s people work with poor, marginalised communities to help them move beyond bare survival and experience some of the ‘fullness of life’ that God offers. If your church does not already receive a bulk order of Target, call the TEAR office to order the number you require. Alternatively the magazine is available online.
