Beyond Survival Video
Clinging to near-vertical slopes in the remote and mountainous Mugu District in western Nepal are some of the poorest communities in the world.
Here only 5.1% of women can read, compared to the Nepal average of 22%. Infant mortality is 201 per thousand, compared to 7–8 per thousand in Australia and 17 per thousand for Australian Aborigines. Life expectancy in Mugu is only 36 years!
This video introduces you to these communities and allows you to hear the hopes and aspirations of a poor but resilient people. It gives you the chance to see the very beginnings of a comprehensive community development program, and invites you to pray for them as they work for a better future. A short Bible study accompanies the video, making it an ideal resource for small groups. Approx 8 minutes.
