These activities are designed for use by students in grades 3–6 but could easily be adapted for younger students. The strongest links with the curriculum are to SOSE, English and Health. Included here are some toilet basics, and a few class experiences to get everyone thinking.

Imagine moving houses every time it rains! That is exactly what happens in many parts of the world. In Rapti Pari in Nepal, people grow crops or collect firewood that can be sold in the nearby town of Nepalgunj. That is, until the monsoon arrives. Then the mud-brick, thatched houses are subjected to the rising flood waters of the river, and when the waters get too high, people are forced to flee to higher ground.

In this issue of Incite 4 Kids, we will look at some ways we can highlight the issue of housing and the concept of home.
