A-La-Cart(e) High School Resource Kit, Term 2, 2008
Welcome to the first A-La-Cart(e) High School resource kit.
The aim of A-La-Cart(e) is to help equip, educate and stimulate young people who are passionate about social justice issues.
We plan to produce a kit each term and would welcome any feedback so we can ensure the resource is as useful as possible.

Beyond Survival Kit
This resource kit comes with everything you'll need to explore the ways in which God’s people can work with poor, marginalised communities to help them move beyond bare survival and experience some of the ‘fullness of life’ that God offers.
Children First Resource Pack
All the resources in this pack are designed to help churches and Christian groups focus on the truth of God’s love for people in some of the world’s poorest communities. Each of the resources has also been designed to make it as easy as possible for you to use. In this Resource Pack you will find the following background material and information on child poverty:
- A study guide to accompany the video.
- A worship service program and resources focusing on the needs of children.
- Educational resources for use with school, Sunday School or children's groups, focusing on the needs of poor children.
- Ideas and resources for taking further action and campaigning in response to child poverty and exploitation.
- The Children First Resource Pack is available from the TEAR Office.
Kaborogin Kids Lead the Way Resource Pack and DVD/Video
Kids 4 Kids - Kaborogin Kids Lead the Way
Join Aussie kids Ben and Naomi, as they discover more about the lives of kids in Kaborogin, a rural Kenyan village.
You'll meet Maureen and Francis, just two of the Kaborogin kids who have been taking an active role in bringing about positive changes for the whole community.
As a result of the Child-to-Child program at their school, they have learnt to be problem solvers and health educators.
These Kenyan kids are spreading life-saving health messages through plays and songs, as well as making practical changes that improve hygiene and sanitation, and reduce the spread of malaria and other diseases.
Aussie kids are encouraged to join in and be a part of changes that make a real difference to children in poor communities around the world.
LIfting the Lid on Toilet Injustice
Safe toilets and clean water are essential to human health and dignity – yet almost one third of the world's population is missing out on access to adequate sanitation. This isn't merely inconvenient; it's unfair and unjust.
It's time to take action! The UN has declared 2008 the Year of Sanitation, and TEAR Australia is joining the call for toilet justice for all. Find out how you can help...
Love the Stranger
Road to Refuge - From rejection to welcomeCongregational Activity: Take to the refugee trail on Refugee Sunday!
The Love the Stranger Resource Pack is full of ideas on how you can make refugee issues real for your church. It provides a forum for Christians to discuss the issues that dominate the media, in their own Christian environment. We aim to have congregations using the opportunity to learn about refugee issues and respond by writing a letter to the government and the media about what they have learnt.
