A river is made one drop at a time
Awaken the Dawn
Since 1982, local Christians have been working in Teso, Uganda, to bring development and a new dawn to poor rural communities.
Through the destruction of war, civil insurgency and the quiet despair of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, Vision Terudo and the Development Secretariat of the Pentecostal Assemblies of God have responded to crisis after crisis with what can only be described as "grace under fire".
Beyond Survival Video
Clinging to near-vertical slopes in the remote and mountainous Mugu District in western Nepal are some of the poorest communities in the world.
Here only 5.1% of women can read, compared to the Nepal average of 22%. Infant mortality is 201 per thousand, compared to 7–8 per thousand in Australia and 17 per thousand for Australian Aborigines. Life expectancy in Mugu is only 36 years!
Children First
Through the stories of two children, one from urban Nairobi and one from rural Uganda, this video explores the causes of child poverty in Africa.
The work of TEAR's partners in Africa to encourage communities to build hope for the future, is highlighted.
Suggestions are made for how we can put poor children and their communities first.
This 18 minute video is accompanied by a study guide and the musical backdrop of a challenging song written for the video by Chris Brown and Lyn Rees.
Compassionate Community Work, The DVD
Father to the Fatherless (including Children at Risk video)
Too many children are experiencing the power of evil.
- 100 million children are living on the streets of the world’s cities today.
- More than 12.5 million children under 5 continue to die each year in Third World countries.
- 1.2 million children are carrying HIV.
- 1 million girls move into prostitution each year.
Throughout the Third World TEAR Australia partners are reaching out to such children and their communities, and demonstrating the power of God's love.
