What a strange and unsettling few weeks for all of us as we grapple to readjust to this global health crisis and the impact it is having not only on our community here in Australia but also around the world.

On behalf of the TEAR team, I’d like to send a message of support and love to our supporters – we are praying for you and your families and hoping you stay well and safe.

At times like these, the message of Christ – loving our neighbour – is a much-needed reminder for each of us. We’ve seen so many local examples of this already, with people reaching out to their friends and neighbours to offer support, especially to those that are particularly vulnerable. Celebrate the goodness we see and consider what you can do.

In terms of our international partners and the communities they serve, TEAR is in communication with them and the situation that is developing looks very grim. A significant health crisis for us is an emerging into a humanitarian crisis for nations with limited social safety nets and inadequate health systems. Now is the time for us to show solidarity and action to help them prepare and respond.

As always, we are spending time in prayer, asking for God to lead us through this time and to give us wisdom to deal with this unprecedented global situation. We appreciate your ongoing support of TEAR and would greatly value your prayers in the weeks and months ahead.

Yours in partnership,

Matthew
